My other hobbies include … hiking, biking, reading, scrabble – I’m saving bridge and mahjong for my old age!!

I create … detailed drawings and paintings

I’ve been doing this for … almost eight years now.

My motivation is… to express myself without using words or conversation.I have a need to create and painting allows me to put my creative energy to use.

What people will get from my work … is a sense of details. I also want them to try tofind the hidden symbolism in the image and not just see the objects as they are arranged.

I’ll bet you didn’t know… I am 22 years old.

My other hobbies include… sewing, crochet, and anything art related

I create … Paintings, murals, decorative finishes, restoration in historic buildings, theatrical design and theatrical scenery. My work is for individuals, private residences, public buildings, private clubs, hotels, opera productions.

My other hobbies include… Gardening and travel to unfamiliar and far away places.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, emerging artist Alea Hurst began her journey into drawing and painting seven years ago as a freshman in high school. She produces two-dimensional works, particularly drawings and paintings, which range from traditional to experimental and mixed media approaches. She currently studies at the University of Georgia in Athens working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Bachelor of Business Arts degree in Management. Her work has been exhibited various places including Hartsfield-Jackson airport, the University of Georgia, and the Henry County Performing Arts Center in Georgia.
